Lawyer Google My Business Account Suspensions, Google Screened, and Attorney Marketing on Google
I know this is a sensitive subject, but I will broach it anyway. Someone must be more vocal about Attorney Marketing on Google. I’ve marketed myself on Google since 2014 and understand how it works: ranking better is the strategy. To win the game of page rank, you must produce authentic content until what you produce starts to work. Find the sweet spot, produce more content, and the search engine chooses you.

At least that used to be the game. GMB platform became much more prominent by 2018 and the early adapters to map spam strategies won tons of free business instead of the highest rank organic listing. Early adopters of the GMB listing spam tactic survive to this day, circling like sharks in the waters of real lawyers helping their community. Instead of the local lawyers receiving the leads that they should have by territorial claim of right, the local less sophisticated personal injury lawyer loses most to the GMB bullies. A GMB bully is the term I call lawyers who purposely create a marketing scheme that is built solely to exploit GMB on a large scale. I won’t name names, those in my industry know who they are. You can find them with simple names and if you research them further it turns out to be some dba that doesn’t appear to be State Bar compliant advertising. I am not an ethics guru, but I am qualified to state that it doesn’t pass the smell test. And when you see them with a Google Screened badge, it certainly seems wrong, because it’s apparent that the address is not their office.
